Get Your Recession-Proof Job With An Online Degree

It’s a very good career move to make sure that you always be aware of how the employment market is changing so that you’re ahead of the curve, no matter if you’re currently employed now or not. One thing that some very smart people are doing during these hard economic times is taking a hard look at their career path and making efforts to move out of a dead end career into one that has a much brighter and longer term future. One of the ways people are doing this is taking advantage of the many resources available to them to seek out accredited universities that offer online degrees in some of the faster growth industries and careers.

Here’s a sample of some of those types of fast growth careers. And this is according to the US Department of Labor, not yours truly . According to the USDL, industries in the areas of social services, government, health care, science, and technology are growing fastest at this moment in time. Just this past June, for example, there were over 20,000 new jobs created in the health care field. And since a primary focus of the government is to reform health care, the demand for jobs in this area will certainly rise.

Here’s another point. Between now and 2014, 23 of the 30 fastest growing jobs will at a minimum require a 4 year degree. So now is the time to take a look at your situation and decide to go forth and conquer that online degree that you’ve been thinking about for a while. No one can say that any position in any field is permanently secure, but if you have the right education you can get your foot in the door in some of the jobs that are as close to “recession-proof” as you can get. And for many working adults, or those that are out of work right now, one of the best solutions to getting this education is via an online degree program. That’s why the interest in online education has spiked in recent months.

So how do you get the funds? There are of course many ways, but one of them is to apply for scholarships from the schools themselves. In fact, many online schools are currently offering scholarships to pay for full time tuition.
