I just read about Stanford’s online master’s degree program.
The program is call the Honors Cooperative Program. It’s a degree that you can earn over 5 years by completing 15 courses - and it’s offered as both an on campus or online program. It’s open to 250 students, most of which live in the Bay Area, but quite a few of them live all over the U.S. and overseas.
Students hail from as far away as China and India. All foriegn students are required to hold a valid student or visitor U.S. visa, and they must be proficient in English.
The online students that are admitted to Stanford are held to the same academic standards as on-campus students. This degree which is offered through Stanford Online, established in 1996, is identical to those of other students.

Here are a few qestions you can ask yourself to help you figure out if
getting your education online is something that would the
the right thing for you.
Are you are currently in a career and you want to move up the”corporate ladder”?
Are yOu are currently “stuck” at the current level in your career and need
a degree or advanced degree to get “unstuck”?
Are you are wishing for a better life, a better standard of living for you
and your family?
Do you have a job now, but you want to continue your education?
Do you lack a college education, and you can’t spend the
time to back to school full time?
Do you travel alot in your present job so even “weekend’ programs won’t work for you?
Are you in the wrong career path want to change it?
Does your husband or wife work outside the home and you’re the “stay at home” spouse
with the kids running around, but you have time and want take some college courses?
Are you a true “lifelong learner” - always trying to improve your knowledge?
If you can answer yes to any of these questions then either taking
some college courses or persuing a full degree online is probably right for you.
